Maximise Your Desk Space

With Samsung's New Space Monitor

Technology has made it easier than ever to be flexible in our ways of working. No longer is the only option to work in a dedicated office, 9–5. Armed with a laptop or tablet, we can work from pretty much anywhere—however, sometimes it helps to have a bigger screen to perform certain tasks such as photo and video editing, design and spreadsheet work. To overcome this issue when working from home, many choose to use a monitor, which ends up consuming valuable—and often limited—desk space in your house or apartment.

Large monitors, as functional as they are, have traditionally been designed to sit on top of a desk—and therefore take up a significant proportion of your working area. With your keyboard, mouse and various drives in tow, this likely doesn’t leave you with much room to comfortably write, sketch, or work with any additional devices—let alone make for a particularly stylish space. To help solve this problem, Samsung has introduced its new Space Monitor; a design that provides greater desk space than a traditional desk-sitting monitor to help you work more efficiently and in a way that suits you, as well as creates a more aesthetically pleasing workspace. The simplicity of the Space Monitor doesn’t detract from other design objects on the table, instead it complements a well-styled room.

Space Monitor’s innovative features include an integrated clamp which attaches to the side of a desk or table and enables the monitor to sit virtually flat against a wall—freeing up much-needed surface space. In place of a conventional fixed stand is one that’s smaller, more minimal and multi-purpose. The monitor’s height and distance away from your eyes can be easily adjusted—thanks to a robust hinge—by pulling the screen forward into your ideal working position. Or, if you’re using the monitor as a secondary screen for your laptop, you can lower the Space Monitor all the way down and have it resting on your desk—at the same eye-level as your laptop screen. When it comes to cables, they’re kept out of sight with the HDMI and power cables flowing neatly through the back of the stand. The monitor is available in two sizes to suit a range of applications and spaces—32-inch 4K UHD and 27-inch WQHD.
