New Collection of Minimalist Danish Watches from Nordgreen
The Danes. They do design exceptionally well, with a time-honoured tradition of making genuinely useful products that expertly balance style, function, longevity and accessibility.
Take Copenhagen-based Nordgreen, the watch brand that mixes minimalist design with quality and sustainability. Since its highly successful launch in 2017 (thanks in part to a headline-making Kickstarter campaign), the brand has been producing clean watch faces pulled together with interchangeable leather, nylon or mesh straps – all inspired by the Danish way of enjoying time, rather than simply counting it.
Nordgreen is now back with their latest collection, made up of two new styles that will sit alongside the original pieces. Designed by none other than Jakob Wagner, the man behind some of the best designs at Bang & Olufsen, HAY and Muuto, these new designs have intertwined customer feedback with the brand’s enduring philosophy and ethos – as well as an attention to detail that ensures this brand is anything but ordinary.
First up, there’s the Pioneer. A modern, stripped-back version of the Chronograph, the clean watch face represents the kind of environment the people behind Nordgreen want to live in. Add three different dial colours (choose between blue, black and white) and three case colours (gun metal, silver and gold), and you have a watch that is at once timeless and contemporary.
The second style is Native Re-Modeled, an update on the original, classic Native watch – this time coming in two different sizes and either rose gold, gold or silver, and with transparent minute marks that remind us to slow down and enjoy the moment.
To launch the new collection, Nordgreen is back on Kickstarter, giving backers the opportunity to pick up a watch (or two) at up to 65% off. Plus, with every purchase Nordgreen makes a donation to one of three NGOs – meaning not only does your watch look good, but it does good too.
