An All-Weather Jacket Made From Renewed Plastic Bottles
San Francisco based clothing brand, Everlane, have made a commitment to eliminate all virgin plastic from their supply chain by 2021. Their first step towards achieving this was the ReNew collection, launched last year, consisting of styles made from recycled plastic bottles. The collection has recently been updated with a new men’s jacket made from 18 plastic water bottles — the ReNew All-Weather Jacket.
Adding to the brand’s wider range of wardrobe essentials, the ReNew All-Weather Jacket is windproof, with a water-resistant finish, and made without environmentally harmful fluorocarbons. The jacket’s design boasts features such as an interior zip to route headphone cables inside the jacket, and a bonded hood brim to keep water off your face. Details include a two-way zipper, adjustable cuffs, and pull toggles for the hood.
Other ethical moves from Everlane include the production of their denim range. The jeans are made in the world’s cleanest denim factory, which recycles 98% of its water, relies on alternative energy sources, and repurposes byproducts to create less waste.
