Audio-Technica Add Bluetooth To Acclaimed Pro Audio Headphones
The wireless headphone market has become flooded in recent years with each introduction vying for position and to stand out from the crowd. Audio-Technica has taken an approach that focuses on quality and tradition with its latest offering, which is sure to please both long-time fans of the Japanese brand and newcomers to the world of wireless audio.
The ATH-M50xBT is the latest addition to the immensely popular M50 range. First released in 2007, the ATH-M50 was intended for the professional market, however, the premium build, superior sound quality and competitive price saw it become a favourite of audiophiles around the world and allowed Audio-Technica to break into the mainstream market.
The same form of the headphones has been maintained, with Audio-Technica even tasking the project to the engineer that developed the previous models. Subtle changes have been made, including the introduction of a mic and three control buttons on the underside of the left earcup to handle phone calls, music playback and volume adjustment. The headphones also utilise intuitive touch controls to provide easy access to voice assistant technology for a convenient wireless experience.
The matte-black casing is accentuated with solid metallic features to ensure a robust construction while also reducing weight. The 90-degree swivelling earcups allow the headphones to be laid flat and combined with the included carry case, make for easy transportation and storage.
The internal battery provides up to 40 hours of playback on a full charge, meaning that these headphones can handle everything from the daily commute to the long-haul flight. Although in the rare times where wireless isn’t an option, the included 1.2-metre cable ensures you’re never left without your headphones.
The ATH-M50xBT has elevated the famed headphone range into the modern world, delivering trademark Audio-Technica sound and build quality without the wires.
