Sheraton On The Park Review | A New Perspective Of Sydney
Sheraton On The Park is currently undergoing a huge $40 million refurbishment to all five-hundred-and-fifty-eight of its guestrooms including fifty suites and the Sheraton Club Lounge. Their aim is to combine the classical elegance of a five-star hotel with modern design features. We got to experience a newly renovated room and the Sheraton Club Lounge on a recent stay.
The surrounding colours of Hyde Park have played a big part in inspiring the design concepts for the hotel renovations by Interior Designer Joseph Pang. Grey tones have been used throughout and the colour green has been implemented in subtle amounts to create a serene atmosphere that reflects the beautiful views. Natural oak furniture complements the colour scheme and quality fabrics like leather give it the luxurious feeling of a high-end hotel. Inclusions like walk-in robes give the rooms a personal vibe and a more residential feeling than a traditional city hotel room.
Our room at Sheraton On The Park felt both contemporary and calming upon arrival. The space was generous in size and the king-size bed was really comfortable, with silky smooth bed linen provided. Our balcony had leafy views overlooking Hyde Park, and we were even able to see St Mary’s Cathedral from a vantage point neither of us had witnessed before.
We stayed in a Club Room, which meant that we had the opportunity to experience the Club Lounge located on the twenty-first floor. The entrance is defined by wooden panel doors which lead to a few different areas for guests including a lounge area with a fireplace, a private reading space and boardroom. The Club Room is open all day for guests to enjoy the different spaces with beautiful views of the park. Club Room guests can have breakfast here in the morning and free cocktails and beer in the afternoon accompanied by a small complimentary buffet.
For something more substantial, the hotel offers a few different dining options including a buffet with a variety of foods ranging from seafood to pizza. There’s also the Gallery Wine Room, which offers a tailored selection of wines from all over the world.
The hotel is in a premium location, directly opposite Hyde Park and footsteps away from the main shopping zones such as Pitt Street Mall and The Galeries Victoria.
Sheraton On The Park provides private and public spaces for guests to work and relax in. Friendly staff, fresh interiors and an abundance of local dining and shopping options make it a pretty cool place to stay in Sydney if you’re visiting for just a few days.
