MINI has never been one to stick to conventions, which is why the MINI Countryman defies all notions of what we thought a car from the marque should be. Built for those who seek adventure, the MINI Countryman offers unmatched control on all driving surfaces, handling anything from mud to snow with ease.

The modern sports activity vehicle, or SAV, has all the comforts and premium features that are intrinsic to a MINI. It also adds far more space, ruggedness, and an all-wheel drive system for off-road control. You’ll still find the classic go-kart handling that makes driving a MINI an unmistakable experience too.

A powerful exterior is the first thing you notice about the MINI Countryman. It’s large but still has the distinctive MINI aesthetic. Being configurable, you can choose to have the classic two-tone roof and mirrors, and the bonnet stripes, or stick with a solid palette. The 18” alloy wheels that come standard in the new generation dominate the bottom half of the car, adding another layer of power to its stance. Satin-finished aluminium roof rails round-out the formidable silhouette, drawing attention to the car’s tall stature.

The new generation of MINI Countryman is 20cm longer and 3cm wider than its predecessor, while the wheelbase has been extended by 7.5cm. For the interior, this means it’s as spacious as ever. Head and legroom are ample for all passengers and the driver, and all the seats are adjustable for maximum comfort.

The car’s interior also presents a premium aesthetic. Elegant cloth and leather seats come standard, with a myriad of custom upholstery and trim options available too. A graphic 8.8” colour touchscreen takes centre stage in MINI’s signature circular console. Car functions, navigation, digital radio, and Bluetooth connectivity are all a simple swipe away.

The MINI Countryman’s 450L boot is a standout feature; one that luggage-laden travellers will be sure to appreciate. A false floor grants additional storage, while folding down the back seat makes way for a cavernous 1,309L space. You could easily fit several suitcases this way, or even a bike. Automatic tailgate operation comes standard, making it even easier to access the boot. Opt for the Road Trip Package and the boot also comes with a fold-out picnic bench that sits atop the tailgate. This is ideal for times when you want to sit back and relax wherever you decide to stop.

The MINI Countryman is available in five engine variants; as well as the base Cooper, there’s the Cooper D, Cooper S, Cooper SD, and John Cooper Works. Each offers a fun, exhilarating drive, with max power ranging from 100kW and 220Nm torque in the Cooper to 170kW and 350Nm in the JCW. Normal, Sports, and Eco driving modes are on offer in each of the variants, allowing for further customisation to your preferred kind of drive. The sporty John Cooper Works iteration of the MINI Countryman with ALL4 all-wheel drive is available for those who seek that extra thrill from their car’s performance.

A car that can manage the rigours of daily driving as effortlessly as it can handle rough terrain, the MINI Countryman is a well-balanced, well-made vehicle. With a myriad of packages available to further enhance the already feature-packed car, this compact SAV is one of MINI’s most versatile designs yet.
