Having experienced Dubai’s desert in the most luxurious way possible, my next stop on a recent trip was to the beach. Towering over the Arabian Gulf, you’ll find the amazing Nikki Beach Resort & Spa. With the water on one side and the city on the other, the brilliant white facade of the resort gleams against each backdrop, welcoming guests to the luxury experience.
Nikki Beach Resort & Spa
You’ve likely heard the name Nikki Beach before in reference to one of the chain’s many beach clubs. They’re found in some of the most popular party destinations in the world; Ibiza, Miami Beach, Koh Samui, and Saint Tropez, to name a few. Dubai’s iteration was built in 2016, with the resort and spa following not long after.
Found less than 20 minutes from both the airport and Downtown Dubai, Nikki Beach is a great spot to base yourself in the city if heading out and exploring is your thing. If not, though, there’s multiple in-house dining options and plenty to keep you occupied for days, all within the resort.
In stark contrast to the last resort I had stayed in Dubai, the design of Nikki Beach is quite contemporary. A refined palette of clean whites, pale blues, and natural timbers dominate the spacious lobby and continue into the rooms.
I stayed in the aptly named Ultimate Suite. Complete with two bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a spacious living area, and balcony that seemingly never ended, this suite truly is the ultimate. A high ceiling makes it feel even bigger, and huge windows and doors bring in natural light and beautiful beach views.
Both bedrooms have ensuites with big tubs, rainfall showers, and double sinks. They come fully stocked with premium Malin + Goetz amenities – one of Hey Gents’ favourites.
Though the beds in the suite are all super comfortable (I tried them all), my jet lag got the best of me each morning during my stay. This is where I was eternally grateful for the in-room Nespresso machine and choice of pods. I’d settle onto the living room couch, first coffee of the day in hand, and enjoy the room’s giant TV until it was a respectable time to start exploring the city. Early morning gulf swims were also a nice way to start the day.
If you’re keen for a swim, Nikki Beach Resort & Spa has you sorted. First up, there’s the beach itself, of course. It’s refreshingly warm, salty water spans shades of blue, aqua and green. It really is something else. The shore plays host to sunbeds and loungers placed intermittently over the private 450-metre stretch, ready for guests to enjoy. You’re guaranteed a spot on the sand to yourself too. Be sure to stay until dusk, where you’ll be treated to a truly spectacular sunset.
The resort’s 27-metre long lap pool is ideal for a leisurely dip, with a plethora of loungers and cabanas surrounding it to choose from.
Then there’s the beach club, which is a short walk over from the resort. This place is unreal; it’s a huge pool party with a really fun vibe. Drinks are delicious and tunes blare courtesy of the live DJ. Head up to Nikki Privé when you’re ready for a bite and some more drinks.
The spa part of Nikki Beach Resort & Spa is beautifully designed and offers an array of luxury treatments for individuals and couples. There’s a sauna to sweat it out in, an invigorating vitality pool, and a beautiful marble hammam too.
