Two New Beautifully Designed Acetate Watch Collections From Belgium
From Antwerp in Belgium, independent design brand Jakhals has recently introduced their new range of minimalist wristwatches. Having just reached their fairly lofty funding goal on Kickstarter, it goes to show how in demand their distinct timepiece designs are.
Jakhals puts their unique touch on the minimalist wristwatch with the addition of a handcrafted acetate ring around the dial. Their two collections comprise of a range of watches that have different patterns and designs of acetate, made to complement the colours of the rest of the piece. Collection 01 features five timepieces in stainless steel, with as many acetate ring designs. From the classic tortoiseshell-look of the Rum and Desert designs to the opal-esque Dawn and Lake, there are looks for every taste.
The three pieces that comprise Collection 02 are also stainless steel but feature PVD plating in gold, rose gold, or gunmetal black. Again, Jakhals have created beautifully designed acetate rings that elevate the look of the rest of the watch. We’re especially fans of the Charcoal Smoke variant, which is super elegant and refined.
Jakhals places a high degree of value in quality craftsmanship and this shows in the materials they choose to use. All of the pieces are available in a choice of either a vegetable tanned Italian leather strap or stainless steel Milanese strap. The use of sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating ensures the watch face remains scratch-free. Furthermore, the watches feature Japanese Miyota 1L45 movement, which is highly accurate but allows the range to remain at an accessible price. The acetate itself is sourced from Mazzucchelli 1849, one of the world’s best suppliers of the material.
With only a handful of days remaining of Jakhals’ Kickstarter campaign, this is the perfect chance to be at the fore and back an up and coming brand with truly unique designs.
