Nocs Atelier's New Dual Time Zone Minimalist Watch
Nocs Atelier’s New Dual Time Zone Minimalist Watch
Following on from the success of their first line of minimalist watches, Swedish brand Nocs Atelier‘s latest collection is mere days from being fully funded on Kickstarter. With a very distinct look, the Seconds GMT is the result of countless hours of designing and developing. Taking the functionality of their initial product, Seconds a step further, the Seconds GMT serves a very useful purpose.
The new watch displays two time zones at the same time, all in a very minimalist and simple way. Where the dial of other timepieces that have this functionality generally look quite crowded, the Seconds GMT remains entirely clean. They’ve achieved this by using an additional hour hand, which rotates on a 24-hour timescale, displaying the current time in the time zone of your choosing. A super useful feature to have, especially if you’re travelling, the watch is ideal for those who don’t want to sacrifice their style in favour of functionality.
Seconds GMT is the epitome of minimalist aesthetics. The watch dial bears no branding or superfluous detailing. The hands are slim and the time indicators are kept simple. The stainless steel iteration has a really modern look, with a brushed finish paired with the silver opaline dial. A black option is the alternative, with a more sporty aesthetic. It’s matte sandblasted and PVD-coated finish paired with a matte sandblasted dial keeps it pretty casual, allowing it to work well as an everyday piece.
Choosing to forego the usual leather or polyester straps, Nocs Atelier’s dual time zone minimalist watch features a recycled polyester strap. A more environmentally friendly option, their natostraps are made in Italy, using substantially less energy and releasing far fewer CO2 emissions than the traditional process of polyester production. Available in a number of colour variations, the brand makes it easy to customise to personal taste too.
