Minimal Watches by Stockholm’s squarestreet

No one can deny that minimalism is in and no one does it better than Scandinavians. The simplicity and functionality of the style forms the basis of Swedish wristwatch brand, squarestreet, who have recently released their latest Aluminum range.

As the name suggests this collection has a strong focus on materials, with Alexis Holm, founder and designer of squarestreet saying that his love of materials is what drives him. The watches are protected by a mono block T6061 Aircraft Grade aluminium case, scratch resistant mineral glass front and an aluminium case and crown. That sounds like a lot but together with the Italian leather strap, the entire piece weighs in at only just over 30 grams.

Gone are the days of the bulky and weighty wristwatch; these watches only protrude about 8mm from your skin, offering a totally streamlined profile to ensure your wrist looks as sleek as the rest of your get-up.

To squarestreet, minimal still has to remain functional. With this in mind, the watches have been designed with separate hour and minute index tracks as well as a small second counter and date read-out, so all it takes is a glance to see the time. You can’t go wrong when matching any of the designs to outfit choices as the pieces come in neutral colours of either black, camel or light brown leather straps and silver, gold and black timepieces.

The brand lives by the ethos of longevity, usability and quality and the Aluminum collection definitely adheres to this. The quality of materials and lightness of the design means they’ll be an ideal option for daily wear.
