Victorinox Spectra 2.0 Suitcase Review

Travelling With The Sleek Victorinox Spectra 2.0 Suitcase

I recently returned from a three week trip to LA. Before leaving I realised that my old suitcase wasn’t exactly the sexiest looking thing around. Inspired by the idea of picking up the most attractive suitcase in baggage claim, I was determined to find a nice new one before I left.

I knew that I wanted something sleek, black and premium – I didn’t want this to be a one trip affair, I wanted something that would last. After jumping online and quickly discovering that there are definitely more ‘interesting’ suitcases out there than good looking ones – I stumbled across Victorinox, in particular a model called Spectra 2.0.Victorinox Spectra 2.0 Suitcase ReviewAs I began clicking through the images and familiarising myself with the features, the Spectra 2.0 was ticking all the boxes. I had come across a few other plain black hardside cases but they just didn’t look as good as this one, nor were the reviews as solid.Victorinox Spectra 2.0 Suitcase Review With the departure date sprinting up on me I decided to take the plunge and get myself a pre-holiday present, selling it to myself as an essential that I needed for the trip. Funny thing was, that’s exactly what it turned out to be. From relentless pouring rain to the savageness of baggage handlers, the Victorinox Spectra 2.0 handled it all like it was nothing. I had visions of my old case coming around the baggage carousel looking like it had just been chewed up and spat out by a killer whale – but through multiple flights, hotel transfers and long walks together in the rain the Spectra 2.0 looked like it had barely been touched.Victorinox Spectra 2.0 Suitcase ReviewThe sleek, minimalist look of this suitcase is supported by its 100% pure Bayer polycarbonate hard shell and dual-caster wheels. It also features a 3-stop adjustable handle and inside there’s a stretch mesh divider wall. I chose the 29 model which was the perfect size for a three week trip with a tonne of shopping. It only weighs 4kg which is impressive for the amount of protection it provides.Victorinox Spectra 2.0 Suitcase ReviewOffering more than just a good looking, durable suitcase, Victorinox also have a bag tracking program called Swiss Tracker, as well as a lock combination recovery program – both of which are undoubtedly going to come in handy one day if you have a similar track record to me.Victorinox Spectra 2.0 Suitcase ReviewThinking back on it now, the Victorinox Spectra 2.0 was definitely my most relaible and useful purchase of the trip.
