Enjoying The Best Of Santa Monica At Hotel Casa Del Mar
You know that feeling of relaxation you have when you arrive home after a long day? Hotel Casa Del Mar somehow manages to capture that feeling and combine it with an exclusive Californian beach club vibe – resulting in one of the most memorable experiences I had in LA.With sweeping views over the Pacific, this Santa Monica hotel is all about a luxurious beachside experience. This is not the kind of hotel where you check-in, drop your bags and get out of there as soon as possible, only returning to sleep. Casa Del Mar is a place you want to make the most of. From the moment you arrive at the front doors you’re instantly taken care of. Before we knew it we were checked-in, our bags were delivered to the room and we were gawking at the view of Santa Monica Pier from our oversized hotel room windows. Now when I say it feels like home, it does so in a way that’s more like a seaside holiday home – and with the Santa Monica beachfront setting, it’s a perfect match. Rather than jumping on the modern, minimalist trend when it comes to décor. Casa Del Mar offer a unique and luxurious coastal aesthetic. There are books and ornaments on the shelves in the room, the bed is high and grand and the bathroom is spacious and bright. The entire hotel continues to carry this old-school charm that paints the word ‘hotel’ in the most positive light. This is no stale tower in the sky or cookie cutter accomodation, this is an elegant mansion, solidly built and oozing quality. A short walk through the wide hallways from the room to the pool had us laying in the sun with drink in hand in no time. This was the perfect way to wind up the week and treat ourselves to a few relaxing days by the beach.Later on we wandered down to Terrazza Lounge for a few drinks before venturing out for dinner. As live jazz music provided the soundtrack, we enjoyed cocktails and craft beers surrounded by lavish indoor cabanas. Casa Del Mar have really found the perfect balance here when it comes to providing a space where music and conversation can coexist. There’s no need to yell over the top of the music just to hold a conversation at your table, but the crowd still really appreciates the live music, with a round of applause pouring out after each song – deservedly so as the performers were exquisite. The morning we were checking out we enjoyed walking straight out on to the beach for a quick swim in the ocean before leaving. The hotel had no problems holding our bags for us for that day while we explored more of Santa Monica, and when we returned we were greeted by name and the luggage was put in our car for us. This summed up our whole Casa Del Mar experience perfectly – relaxed, luxurious and accomodating.
