Huckleberry & Co Archibald Watch Designed In Melbourne

Archibald Watch By Melbourne’s Huckleberry & Co.

Melbourne based Huckleberry & Co have just revealed their Bauhaus inspired Archibald watch. With the aim to promote the finesse and craft of mechanical watch designs, their bold Kickstarter funding drive has already smashed their initial pledge expectations.

Bauhaus, a German design school which is in itself an institution when it comes to design theory, is the main aesthetic driving force for the Archibald. The 1930s was an era when Bauhaus was at the forefront of design consciousness and it is this period style which H&Co are evoking, while also keeping the Archibald modern and relevant.

Battery free, the Archibald’s Japanese Miyota 9132 automatic movement mechanism keeps running for 40 plus hours without movement. Power can be restored with movement or hand winding the crown. Its 40mm by 1cm bezel case is elegantly masculine and keeps the focus on the face of the timepiece.

The flat sapphire crystal window is a clean visual portal onto the face where 3 hands keep track of date, time in 24 and 12 hour dials and power. The body comes in either rose gold or silver and is fitted with a leather strap. With 5ATM water resistance and a sturdily engineered build, the Archibald is set to survive the rigors of daily life.
