Singapore Airlines Premium Economy Class Just Landed
After two years of development and a modest US$80 million later, Singapore Airlines unveiled their new Premium Economy Class during a media launch in Singapore.
Everything from the advanced in-flight entertainment system to the food and beverage choices have been revamped, but let’s start with the seats – a modern design with a sleek leather finish. All Premium Economy guests will be spoiled with a calf and foot rest, individual power supply, two USB ports, cocktail table and most importantly, lengthy leg room. An eight-inch recline has also been introduced making falling asleep or watching a film on your new 13.3 inch HD monitor that much more comfortable.
If a lush meal is enough to persuade you to go premium, then premium is what you’ll fly. The new Book The Cook service allows you to choose your meal before even stepping foot on the plane. Meals range from seafood thermidor, roasted chicken in garlic sauce, and even pancakes with maple syrup if you’re really in the holiday mood. A selection of curated wines will also be available to pair with your meal choices.
For that extra comfort, Premium Economy guests receive an amenity kit in a collectors pouch which includes a toothbrush, toothpaste and pair of socks. So if you’ve paid your dues in economy and are keen for some premium pampering, Singapore Airlines Premium Economy Class will be introduced on the 9th of August.
